WHAT WILL BUSINESS COMMUNICATION
BE LIKE IN THE YEAR 2020?

For many years, the Netherlands has been a hub of international communication. From the time of the Dutch East India Company, the country has played a key role in developing, framing and delivering messages that have had a commercial impact with a global reach.
A lot has changed since then and is still changing rapidly, particularly in the field of communication. New media are moving ownership of information from the few to the many. If knowledge is power and if access to knowledge is becoming easier, then what does that mean for communicators and the organisations they work for?
Now, communicators in the Netherlands have their own organisation: the IABC Netherlands. This is a new Dutch chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators, which is the world’s largest multidisciplinary association of international communication professionals.
The new IABC Netherlands is hosting a launch event on 20 November 2007:
What will business communication be like in the year 2020?
Speakers:
* Michael van Praag, noted entrepreneur and former Chairman of AFC Ajax
* David Ferrabee, Managing Director, Change and Internal Communication, Hill & Knowlton.
The event will be facilitated by TV-journalist Astrid Kersseboom, NOS News Presenter.
